それでは、果たして「違和感を感じる」というフレーズは意味的に２重になっているのでしょうか？
足がかりとして、以下の２つの文を見てみましょう


  1. 普段着を着る
  2. 重ね着を着る


ａに関しては、特に違和感はありません。普段から日常的によく使われる表現です。ｂについてはどうでしょう？おかしく感じませんか？意味的に同じ内容が重なっているように思いますよね。
それではこれらの表現のどこが違うのでしょうか？
それは普段着をという言葉は「普段から着ているもの」の意味があるのに対し、重ね着という言葉は「重ねて着ること」という意味があるからです。
ａとｂを以上の定義で置き換えて見ましょう。


  1. 「普段から着ているもの」を着る
  2. 「重ねて着ること」を着る


どうです？ａは意味が通じますが、ｂでは意味が通じません。
